The project won an Honor Award from the Arizona American Society of Landscape Architects in 2020. The existing landscape was revitalized and designed to respect architect that designed the home. New plants included salvaged Ironwood Trees, Saguaro, and a community of plants that are “Sonoran” icons. New paving matches seamlessly with the original design. A long winding rain garden carries water from the highest portion of the site to join the wash below the house. The water course changes be a series of collections and over flows effectively making storm water an amenity.
